Join us for an end of year LiveStream to celebrate some of the accomplishments made throughout the watershed in 2024! During this virtual event you will hear from Connecticut River Conservancy’s Executive Director, Rebecca Todd, and many other staff representing our programmatic work for clean water, healthy habitats, and resilient communities. There will be a series of brief presentations on everything from invasive species to dam removals and restoration projects. You will even get the chance to ask any questions you may have about migratory fish, or how many plastic bottles were pulled out of the river at this year’s Source to Sea Cleanup. Come join us for a riverside round robin as we gear up for another exciting year ahead! This is a virtual event you’ll be able to access from home via Zoom. A link to access will be sent to you after registration. The event will be recorded and shared the following day with all those who RSVP. The presentation portion of the event is expected to last just under an hour, with staff staying on though 1:15pm to address any questions.

3 dimensional weavings by Marsha Borden. “This body of work represents the culmination of a year-long study of microalgae existing in our local Connecticut waters. The work involves large-scale artistic renderings of a selection of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABS) threatening our sound and estuaries due to ongoing climate change impacts. These three-dimensional panels exploit the expressive qualities of fiber (both natural and manmade) while highlighting the fragile yet resilient condition of our ocean and some of the detrimental organisms within it. Exhibition is available to be viewed Tuesday through Saturday during building hours.

June 8: White Memorial Conservation Center Event

Please join us from 9 am until 5pm as we celebrate Connecticut Open House Day with FREE ADMISSION all day! Now in its 20th year, Connecticut Open House Day is an annual event held on the second Saturday of June. Its purpose is to inspire Connecticut residents to learn about all of the tremendous the experiences they can enjoy in their own backyard, anticipating that this will convert them into ambassadors who will recommend these experiences to other visitors.

Explore the ecological benefits of this initiative and engage with experts in a dynamic conversation on environmental restoration and conservation efforts.

CRC’s River Steward in CT, Rhea Drozdenko, will speak on a panel about river restoration after the film.

This event is part of the Ideas Summit at the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.

June 15. Connecticut River Museum Event

On select Saturday mornings 9:00am, we offer a special cruise, designed for young children and their parents, grandparents, etc., aboard RiverQuest. On this cruise, we will show young children how to use binoculars, teach them about the birds we see, nautical terms, river ecology and other points of interest including. This is a fun cruise to introduce young children to the fragile beauty of the Connecticut River and the unique area we live in. And, it allows kids to be kids!

All kids ages 2 to 12 ticket price will be only $10, ages 12 to 100 only $20. Online booking only.

June 23. Connecticut River Conservancy Event

The Connecticut River Museum is hosting an Environmental Symposium this June at Wesleyan University’s Beckham Hall Ballroom, featuring speakers and topics spanning all 410 miles of the Connecticut River. Connecticut River Conservancy’s Executive Director, Rebecca Todd, will be one of the featured speakers. This event will be an opportunity for environmentally focused organizations to make new connections and discover exciting opportunities for collaboration and coalition building.
